The heart of biodiversity

Water is the element that enables life, in all its forms. Ninety-seven percent of the water on our planet is found in the sea, in the ocean.
The role of mountains, and the Alps in particular, which act as a reservoir and reserve of fresh water for the land, is therefore fundamental!

The Alps contain the concrete, physical, biological, chemical, and ecological elements that make the entire central-southern areaof Europe one of the richest in the world: water, raw materials, food, energy, health, and high-quality agriculture in the plains are all the result of the presence of the Alps in this area.
