The aim is to protect these high-altitude habitats and raise awareness among the population of their value and the need to preserve them.
The project involves collective actions to clean up plastic waste in mountain areas, awareness-raising events, and the dissemination of knowledge about plastic pollution and waste prevention. The activities will take place on trails, lake shores, coves, meadows, and scree slopes, involving volunteers, tourists, and outdoor enthusiasts.
A training program will create "CLIMALP guides, " young people prepared to lead activities and mobilize people.
Stakeholders, including hikers, mountain guides, schools, park staff, institutions, and the tourism sector, will be involved.
The project promotes a cross-border strategy between France and Italy, promoting joint governance for the protection of the Alps and risk management, thereby addressing shared environmental challenges.
