Discovering the Quarazza Valley
One of the most picturesque valleys, home to gold prospectors and smugglers from nearby Valsesia.
Excursion in the Quarazza Valley (1309 m) along a picturesque circular route starting from the hamlet of Staffa (1327 m) to Alpe Bletza (1699 m) and descending to Lago delle Fate (Fairy Lake) and the Crocette mining site. Return via the trail leading to the hamlet of Isella.
Excursion details:
· Departure: Macugnaga bracket (VCO)
· Difficulty: And, elevation gain 400 m, distance 10 km round trip
· Meeting point: 9 a.m. Meeting place to be confirmed later
· Return to the cars: Around 4:30 p.m.
Required equipment: technical layered hiking clothing, ankle-high hiking boots, hat, sunglasses. In your backpack: spare T-shirt, sunscreen, rain jacket, water bottle, packed lunch.
