In the heart of the Gran Bosco di Salbertrand Nature Park, part of the Protected Areas of the Cottian Alps, the trail leading up to the Daniele Arlaud Mountain Hut (1,770 m a.s.l.) offers a deep immersion in alpine nature. Starting from the village of Salbertrand, you immediately enter a dense forest of larch, fir, and Swiss stone pine trees, where the scent of the woods accompanies every step. The trail winds through ancient mule tracks and sunlit clearings, offering picturesque views of the valley and the surrounding mountains. It is not uncommon to come across tracks of deer or roe deer, the silent inhabitants of this vast protected forest.
