We will follow historic mule trails dating back to 1879, built to allow travelers and merchants to reach the Lys Valley—better known as the Gressoney Valley—in the Aosta Valley. Originally, these trails were constructed on the Aosta Valley side, which was initially prioritized for transportation links. Our hike will take us to the picturesque Lago della Vecchia, a charming place steeped in legends, as evidenced by ancient rock carvings. Here we will stop for lunch, accompanied by a splendid view of the Cervo Valley. We will return via the same route, with arrival back at the cars scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
