At the headwaters of the Lys River

Da Staffal partiremo seguendo la sinistra idrografica del Torrente Lys, il corso d’acqua che dà il nome all’intera valle, fino a raggiungerne le sorgenti: saremo proprio ai piedi del Monte Rosa! Attraverseremo boschi di larici, praterie alpine e morene in formazione, osservando l’ambiente montano in tutte le sue sfumature. Lungo il percorso seguiremo anche un interessante itinerario geo-cronologico che racconta l’evoluzione del paesaggio, dal ghiacciaio fino al fondovalle

‍· Departure: Staffal (AO)

· Difficulty: Distance: 7 km round trip, elevation gain: 670 m

· Meeting point: ore 09.30 a Staffal (alla fontana vicino ai parcheggi qui: https://maps.app.goo.gl/NGvKTCgQyovWTC8F9)

·   Return to the cars: Around 4 p.m.

Required equipment: technical layered hiking clothing, ankle-high hiking boots, hat, sunglasses. In your backpack: spare T-shirt, sunscreen, rain jacket, water bottle, packed lunch.
