Hike at the foot of Monte Rosa, the second highest mountain in Europe and the only Himalayan-style peak in the Alps.
Departure from the hamlet of Pecetto (1,360 m) and walk to Piani Alti di Rosareccio (2,190 m) to reach Alpe Pedriola (2,070 m), descent crossing the moraine, arrival at Belvedere (1,907 m) and return to Pecetto.
The Zamboni Zappa mountain hut is open in summer at Alpe Pedriola.
Excursion details:
· Departure: Pecetto di Macugnaga (VCO)
· Difficulty: And, elevation gain 830 m, distance 10 km round trip
· Meeting point: 9 a.m. Meet at the chairlift departure point in the hamlet of Pecetto
· Return to the cars: Around 5 p.m.
Required equipment: technical layered hiking clothing, ankle-high hiking boots, hat, sunglasses. In your backpack: spare T-shirt, sunscreen, rain jacket, water bottle, packed lunch.
